It snuggles, that’s for sure.

Ooo, what’s that?

Isn’t it funny looking? Cin has one, too, and it just looked like so much fun.  It’s the Snugglepuss by Vibratex.

How’s it made?

The Snugglepuss is hinged pink plastic encased in a pink elastomer sleeve.  It’s phthalates and latex free and hypoallergenic.  It’s about four inches long and an inch and a quarter at its widest point.

It’s shaped sort of like a “U”, with one side having a sort of butterfly on it with nubs between the wings, and the other being shaped sort of like a big toe (Yes, I realize how gross that visual is.  I can’t help it! That’s what it looks like!) with nubs all over it as well.

The side with the butterfly comes off to reveal the batter compartment, which, if I’m to be honest, I was rather disappointed with.  First, the sleeve is excruciatingly difficult to remove without tearing.  I managed, but I have a tendency to treat my sex toys like the slightest wrong touch will break them.  Second, once I got the sleeve off, the battery cap just sort of popped off in my hands.  It’s a teeny-tiny square of plastic with no real clasp to speak of.

Inside, you’ll find three watch batteries separated with a thin piece of plastic to keep it from draining them or turning the toy on.  Pull out that plastic, replace the cap and sleeve, and you’re good to go.

The toy turns on and off by separating the two ends, so you need do nothing from here but insert it and adjust it so it’s sitting correctly.

What’s it for?

This toy is made for handsfree simultaneous g-spot and clitoral stimulation.  Insert the thicker end.  Situate the butterfly so that it’s directly over your clitoris.  Let your labia close around the butterfly wings, and enjoy the ride.  Read more…

But… spikes should hurt!

Ooo, what’s that?

The style is known as a pocket-rocket.  The product is Athena Waterproof Mini-Massager by The Berman Center.

What’d it come in?

That purple cardboard box in the picture, there.  It comes with a instructions, a purple mesh drawstring bag to store the toy and four different heads.

How’s it made?

The body is made up mostly of transparent purple ABS plastic.  It’s four inches long and an inch wide.  The top has four metal contact points which, you can see by looking through the toy, don’t touch the motor in any way.

On the side, you’ll se the bottom has a white arrow and the top has the words “Open”, “Off”, and “On”.  Simply turn the bottom till the arrow matches “Open” and pull.  Drop a AA battery in the bottom, positive side up, and screw the bottom back into the top till the arrow matches “On”.

The four different tips are made of TPR and fit snugly over the top.  One is domed.  One has five flat raised nubs.  One has twelve pointy raised nubs.  And the last has a number of little pointy raised nubs.

What’s it for?

The Athena is for stimulating the clitoris, labia and erogenous zones.  But it can also be used to massage sore joints and fingers.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
powerful motor
pretty storage bag
waterproof
hair gets caught on metal
doesn’t hurt

You ready for this?

I was disappointed because the pointy nubs didn’t hurt.  So don’t buy this toy if you’re looking for something to turn your clit into hamburger.

What’s that you say? You’re not? Then this toy isn’t so bad.

It’s got a powerful little motor.  It’s not overly loud.  It’s super easy to use.  And it’s decently priced.

The soft tips are perfect for people who like different textures.

It’s waterproof so I can take it in the shower with me.

It does wonders for my neck when I have a tension headache and feels great on my temples when it’s a migraine.  Just be sure you pop one of the four soft tips on the end if you’re going anywhere near your hairline.  Occasionally, my hair gets caught in the metal on the end when I’m using it on my neck.

How do you care for it?

Wash it with soap and water or spray it down with a toy cleaner.  Store the massager and the tips in the mesh bag it comes with.  You can even store the battery in there.  It’s rather roomy.

Where’d ya get it?

The awesome folks at TabuToys.com sent me the Athena Waterproof Mini-Massager, free of charge, in exchange for an honest review of the toy.  TabuToys.com offers discreet, private shopping to men and women of all sexual orientations.  Aside from their selection of over 3000 hand-picked toys, they offer good reading material such as Sex Toys 101 and Buying Your First Vibrator.  And to help you pick out just the toy you’re looking for, they have an excellent Sex Toy Quiz.

Well, aren’t you chunky?

Ooo, what’s that?

It’s the Cloud 9 by California Exotics, and it’s just as chunky as it looks. I literally giggled as I inserted it, excitedly pulled it out and hugged it, then batted my baby-blues up at M and breathed, “It’s so chunky.”

What’d it come in?

It came in a soft pink cardboard box with a picture of the toy on the front and what the toy does on the back.

How’s it made?

The Cloud 9 is six inches of lavender plastic, all told, with an insertable length of four and one-half inches long. At its widest point, it’s one and three-quarters inches and it has a circumference of five and three-quarters inches. But would you look at all those bulges? It feels much chunkier than it looks. Waterproof. And it’s heavy for such a short vibrator.

The surface is smooth and nonporous. It’s phthalates and latex free. Hypoallergenic. And made of a food-grade material.

The very tip top is long and sort of sloped downward. It’s got five little nubs, each about a quarter inch in diameter and about half an inch apart, running along the surface. Then it narrows and then bulges out again, finally narrowing to the dial control.

There’s only one vibration setting that increases with the turn of the dial. And I found it pretty strong, yet quiet.

What’s it for?

G-spot stimulation, obviously, but it can be used for clitoral and erogenous stimulation as well. I’m not sure I’d suggest anal insertion, but the vibrations might feel nice around the anus.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
chunky
amazing curves
only splashproof

I’m kind of biased. What do I mean?

Well, you see, here’s the thing. This toy, with the vibrations somewhere between low and medium, and the help of M’s thrusting, gave me my first ever (and so far only) g-spot orgasm without clitoral stimulation. But he still says the g-spot doesn’t exist. Ba-dum-bum.

I love this toy. Period. End of sentence.

It bulges in all the right places. It’s great for textured clitoral and vaginal stimulation. It’s got all the drag Velvet Cote has to offer. And the vibrations are almost perfect. It’s definitely my new favorite g-spot vibe.

How do you care for it?

Wash it with antibacterial soap or wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol. Use toy wipes or toy cleaner. Make sure the washer’s in place and the battery cap is on tight when you take it in the shower. DO NOT submerge this toy or it will become a dildo. Take the batteries out when you’re storing it and just toss it in the drawer. And use water or silicone based lube.

Where’d ya get it?

Rock, chick! No, really… Rock.

Ooo, what’s that?

That’s the G-Rock Pleasurizer by California Exotics.

What’d it come in?

It comes in a clear plastic box with blue trim and purple hearts and lettering.  There’s frosted molded plastic that fits inside the box and holds the G-Rock and its N sized battery.  And on the back is a diagram showing you how the toy gets inserted.

How’s it made?

It’s made of pretty, nonporous, phthalates and latex and scent free, lavender silicone and it’s about eight inches, end to end, and it’s about an inch wide all over.  The only exception to this is the angled clitoral “shield”, which is about two inches wide.

It’s curved into the shape of a “C”.  It’s waterproof.  It’s both dense and flexible.  And its surface provides a good amount of drag, which is always fun.

There’s a small bullet that runs on an N size battery and slips inside the sleeve.  However, if you can figure out how to get the bullet out of the sleeve (it comes with the bullet inside the sleeve) to put it back in the sleeve without the battery cap/push-button control popping off the end, you’ve got one up on me.  My bullet seems pretty well stuck in there.

Inside the battery compartment was a thin piece of clear plastic I ended up taking out and throwing away.  I’m sure you’re supposed to anyway, but I always feel stupid asking about these things, so I never do.  Leaving the clear plastic inside the cylinder made it next to impossible to remove the battery.

What’s it for?

This toy is for simultaneously stimulating your g-spot and clitoris.  It’s made for both solo use and use with a partner, as the end that is inserted is small enough for a penis to slide in behind it, though I’ve not used it that way, so I can’t attest to its enjoyability or comfort.  And it requires you to rock your hips for best results.

Beginners might really enjoy this toy, but more experienced users might find it a flop.  Read more…

Not So Much “Ecstasy” as “Exasperating”

Ooo, what’s that?

Isn’t it prettiful? I just adore that pink.  And look! No rabbit ears.  Just nubs.

That, my lovelies, is Ecstasy, from California Exotics’s Petite Couture Collection line.

What’d it come in?

What else? California Exotics’s trademark flimsy white box.  Only instead of being wrapped in plastic, this one was wrapped in a thin styrofoam sleeve.  That’s probably what saved the toy when it slipped out of my FedEx man’s fingers and glided a couple feet in front of him before abruptly meeting the asphalt.  Thanks, FedEx Man!

How’s it made?

Ecstasy is nine inches long from end to end, with an insertable length of about four and three-quarters inches, or so.  It’s got a diameter of about an inch at the widest point of the tip and an inch and a quarter at the base.  It’s made of pretty pink silicone that is nonporous and phthalates and latex free.  It manages to be slightly squishy and dense at the same time.  It’s waterproof.  And it’s shaped sort of like a rabbit without the adorable rabbit face and ears.

In place of the rabbit is a nub about an inch and a half long with ribs running across it in about the same place the rabbit’s ears would be.  It vibrates and is controlled by the button sporting the wavy line located on the silver base.  It has three steady vibration settings, each increasingly stronger than the last, and four pulsation variables.

The ribs on the nub continue along the shaft, providing a bit of texture to its insertion.  The last two inches of the shaft rotate when you push the button with the circling arrows on it.  It has three speeds.

On the bottom, you’ll find the turn-dial cap concealing the battery compartment.  Open it up and you’ll find a white plastic battery container that slides out.  Fit three AAA batteries into the container, return it to the compartment and close it up, then press the power button (beneath the wavy line) and get started.  Read more…
