Product Review: Coochy Collection by Holiday Products

November 28th, 2009

51WYAdulh-L._SL1132_Once upon a time, I lived with a couple who were swingers.  He was in the U.S. Navy, and she hosted “Fantasy Parties”.  Think Tupperware Party only with sex toys.  Usually, in my experience, nonthreatening beginner sex toys.  I often tagged along with her, and then, when she stretched herself too thin, eventually started hosting some on my own to help her out.  And one of the products she carried, but could never sell, was Coochy Rashfree Shave Creme.

The benefits sounded amazing.  One of her selling points was always that her husband, who had a serious burn scar on most of his face and neck, used and loved it.  I could (and did) testify to that, since I lived with them and saw him use it, but she still couldn’t even sell it to me.  I’m not really sure why.

Ooo, what’s that?

That is none other than the Coochy Collection by Holiday Products.  It’s four one ounce bottles of Coochy Rash Free Shave Cream in Unscented, Original, Green Tea and Pear Berry.

What’d it come in?

The Coochy Collection came in a clear plastic shower-type bag with black trim and velcro holding it closed.  Inside the bag is a cardboard insert telling you the ingredients and all the benefits of using Coochy Rash Free Shave Cream, and four one ounce bottles (made of recyclable plastic) with push down lids.

What’s in it?

Ingredients: D.L. Water, Steralkonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glycerin Stearate SE, Jojoba Oil, Lanolin, Keratin Protein, Panthenol, Allantion, Methyloparaben, Fragrance, Propylparaben

What’s it for?

From the name, you can guess correctly that Coochy Shave is made with your bikini line in mind.  The folks from Holiday Products designed this shave cream to help us ladies give ourselves a bump and irritation free shave on our pink parts.

However, Coochy Shave is also excellent for shaving underarms, legs and faces.  And it works well when used as a hair conditioner.

How is it?

Put it this way…

When I ordered Coochy Collection, I mentioned the aforementioned husband’s baby-smooth face and offered M the use of some of this supposed miracle shaving cream.  He turned me down at first, lamenting the fact that it was made for my lady parts, and I thought that was the end of it.

Then, one day, M came out of the shower and moaned, “It’s not fair.”

Confused, I asked, “What’s not fair?”

“I’ve never used a shaving product for men that allows that close of a shave without giving me razor burn.”

He said, hours later, that his face never itched once.  His skin was super soft and I noticed his five o’clock shadow held off a little while longer.

As for me, I have super sensitive, super dry, super thin skin.  My hair doesn’t work well with wax.  Products like Nair and Veet Mousse irritate or dry my skin.  I cut myself constantly and I haven’t found a razor/cream combination, yet, that hasn’t left me with at least a touch of razor burn.  Until Coochy.

Because Coochy Shave is hair conditioner, it softens the hair, making the razor’s job easier.  It also lubricates the skin nicely, making the razor glide along smoothly with little to no effort on your part, which plays a huge part in reducing razor burn.  And it’s made with aloe vera, so it leaves your skin soft and smooth without the dryness other shaving creams sometimes cause.

The scents leave a little to be desired.  They’re so faint they might as well be nonexistent.  But with all the other scented products us women tend to use, who needs one more, really?

Just wet the area you plan to shave and rub a small amount of Coochy onto your skin.  Then shave like you would normally.  You can let it sit for a little while to soften the hair more if you like.  I do sometimes.

For best results, follow up with a few spritzes of Coochy Protection.

I haven’t used Coochy as a hair conditioner.  But according to the bottle, you may do so by massaging it into your hair after shampooing and rinsing well.  It says to leave it in for one or two minutes, and up to five minutes for coarser hair.

To give you an idea of how M and I feel about Coochy Shave, I’ll tell you we’ve already bought two four ounce bottles of it in Pear Berry since trying Coochy Collection.  It’s my favorite barely-there scent of the ones Eden Fantasys offers.  But don’t take my word for it.  Try it for yourself!

Where’d ya get it?

I bought Coochy Rashfree Shave Creme from that store but you can pick it up at Amazon.
