Product Review: Thrusting Jack Rabbit by California Exotics

January 22nd, 2010

Ooo, what’s that?

That’s the Thrusting Jack Rabbit by California Exotics.

What’d it come in?

This toy comes nestled in clear molded plastic inside a clear plastic box with hot pink trim.

How’s it made?

The Thrusting Jack Rabbit is eleven and one-half inches of clear purple, phthalates free TPE speckled with silver glitter.  Its diameter is one and one-half inches, though it looks bigger than that.  And for all that, its insertable length is only four and one-half inches.

The handle is shiny purple plastic.  It’s got two + buttons, two – buttons and an off button.  There are six LED lights over each set of + and – buttons to indicate what level the toy is on.

On the bottom of the handle, there’s a twist cap, sort of like you would find on the belly of a piggy bank.  – The whole toy, really, looks like something that Barbie would use.  All little girlish and princess-y.  It’s cute. – Unscrew the cap and flip the toy right-side up and a piece of white plastic falls into your hand.  That would be what you snap your four AA batteries into.  Each battery clip has a diagram on the plastic showing you which direction to put the batteries in.

You’ll notice the bottom of the battery holder has two pieces of metal coming out of it.  Make sure you insert the holder so that the metal on the bottom of the holder touches the metal inside the compartment.

It feels like jelly.  It’s squishy and kind of tacky.  It’s got the same adorable face under the head as the WWV.  And you can see its guts, which I think is pretty cool.

Inside the shaft, there are two sets of beads.  One set is silver metal and the other purple plastic.  The silver metal ones thrust up and down while the purple plastic ones spin in place.

Inside the rabbit is a silver bullet with three intensities and four vibration variables.  It’s rather flexible, which aids in positioning, and pretty darn strong.

What’s it for?

This dual stimulator, for all intents and purposes, is meant to simulate intercourse almost exactly without including a partner.  Minus, you know, the vibrations and such.  However, this toy is also good for partner use.  The thrusting shaft stimulates… Well, just everything! But it does an especially nice job of massaging the g-spot once you figure out the best position for you.  Obviously, the rabbit stimulates the clitoris.  And this toy is waterproof.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
thrusting action
comfortable to hold
waterproof
wasted space
slight learning curve
LOUD

The first time I used this toy, I was a little disappointed.  M’s got this habit of making me lay or sit on the floor when I masturbate, which really isn’t the best position for any toy, least of all a toy this large.  And there’s a bit of a learning curve with it.  You have to find a position, thrusting speed and vibration setting that works for you, and that can take a few uses.

The LED lights are pretty neat.  The toy doesn’t remember which setting you were on.  So if you do, you can just dial it up to that one and you’re good to go.  That’s been useful.

The pulsation variables didn’t annoy me and I absolutely adore the thrusting action.  I haven’t had a problem with the beads jamming at all.

Who am I kidding? I love this toy.  One handed masturbation and cumming in twenty seconds flat without becoming so overstimulated I can’t bear to finish my orgasm is absolutely awesome.

However, there’s about two inches between the rabbit and the handle.  Seems a little wasteful to me.  Couldn’t they have found a way to make that extra two inches translate into extra insertable length?

I’m sure there’s a reason for it.  Like the motor was too large or something.  My response to that is “Build a smaller motor.”  Course, I’m sure their response to that would be “A smaller motor would make a less powerful toy.”  But to be honest this toy has power in spades.  I’m surprised my neighbors don’t hear it when I turn it on.  As it is, I have to stop, mid-masturbation session, if the phone rings because it can be heard clearly in any part of the apartment, even with doors closed.

How do you care for it?

I’m not sure there’s a close-able plastic bag big enough for this toy anywhere outside of the sporting goods section.  It’s almost too big for a gallon Ziplock.  So I opted for keeping the molded plastic sleeve this toy came in to store it until I can get to the store.

Wash it with a toy wipe or antibacterial soap and water.  Use a condom when sharing between orifices and/or partners.  And use water or silicone based lubes with this toy.

Where’d ya get it?
