So, I was reading 50 Shades of Grey, and Christian requires Anastasia to meet with a personal trainer. He says it will further her body’s ability to accept the things he plans to do to her. Should I be working out, or something? Am I gonna get hurt if I don’t?

If you’re using 50 Shades as a BDSM guide, you’re already doing it wrong. However.

There are certain activities that are easier to handle and/or perform if you’re physically fit. This is true of everyday life, BDSM, athletics. A person is not going to just go from sitting on the couch all their life to winning a marathon overnight.
