It’s the “Cheer Melen Up Without Hurting His Back!” giveaway!
Please note: It is super important that you read and follow the directions.
M’s in pain. Lots of pain. I gave a basic description of what’s been going on here, if you’re interested.
At the time of that writing, we’d decided to talk to a chiropractor about the situation before committing to surgery because M really didn’t want surgery. And we did, but if we weren’t optimistic before talking to the chiropractor, we were even less optimistic after our conversation (despite the fact that it would have been super cool to be able to say that M’s doc used to work for the New York Giants). Not only because it kinda sounded like hooey, but also because M’s insurance doesn’t cover what the chiropractor wanted to do because the medical world isn’t sure, yet, that it isn’t hooey.
We had to go back to M’s neurosurgeon to find that out. The chiropractor told us most insurances didn’t cover it, but he didn’t tell us that they didn’t cover it because there’s no confidence that it solves the problem.
So…we decided against the chiropractor’s suggestion, and scheduled the surgery.
Once we’d made the decision, it all happened really fast. On Tuesday, we left the neurosurgeon, and drove to M’s PCP for clearance. From there, we drove to the imaging place to pick up the disc containing M’s MRI and X-rays. On Wednesday, we drove to St. Peter’s Hospital for pre-op. On Thursday, my mom drove up from Maryland to drive us to and from the hospital (I still don’t drive), keep me from completely losing my mind in the OR waiting room, and help us out for a couple days after the surgery. And Friday morning, we piled in the car at 8am and headed off to send M under the knife.
I was petrified. A lot of things can go wrong with spinal surgery. A LOT OF THINGS. And I couldn’t stop thinking about each and every one of them.
I tried really hard not to let M know how scared I was. I sat with him while he waited to go back to the OR, and made jokes about the people on Let’s Make a Deal, trying not to fidget. I have a permanent indentation on the inside of my cheek where I chewed relentlessly to avoid crying. And the second my mother and I were out of sight of M and the other people waiting for loved ones to come out of surgery, I completely fell apart.
I’m still worried. Who wouldn’t be? But M made it through the surgery okay, and he’s now in recovery. Slowly but surely, things are getting better, but Wednesday, he had a lot of swelling, and Thursday, he felt really sick.
This giveaway is all about new ways to cheer him up and keep him positive while he’s healing. More about that in the entry directions. First, let’s talk about those prizes!

How To Enter
There are a few ways to enter, the first being agreeing to the terms. That one is mandatory, and can be found in the widget below. Everyone must complete that entry to be considered, but that is the only entry that must be completed.
If you’d like to win First, Second, or Third Prize, or Honorable Mention, you must complete a task for me. It’s super simple. Ready?
This thing with M has been going on since September of last year. I’m pretty good at cheering my man up, but I’m running out of ideas that won’t hurt his back. My most recent attempt was buying smiley-faced french fries to have with dinner some night this week. Yeah…they’re getting really lame. So! Your mission, should you choose to accept it (and if you don’t, your only prize option is a sample pack of lubes and performance enhancement pills), is to throw out ideas for cheering M up and keeping him positive while he heals from spinal surgery. These things cannot involve sex (because cumming hurts…duh?), touching M’s back, or too much bending or twisting on M’s part. You can submit these entries via the comments below, or in an email to rayne(at)insatiabledesire[dot]com. Be sure to mark the “Cheer M Up!” entry option in the Rafflecopter widget below. You can make one suggestion each day of the contest.
The third and final way to enter is to share the shit out of this giveaway so other people have the chance to enter. Sharing is caring, after all. One winner will be chosen randomly via the Rafflecopter widget. The other will be whoever has the most social media entries. Each of the winners of these prizes will receive a giant sample pack of lube (listed above).
