NS(K)Q: Q38 – 24/7? Really?

October 30th, 2014 1 comment

NoStupidKinkQuestionsGandhi said that if you want to change the world, you have to be the change you want to see. To that end, Insatiable Desire brings you No Stupid (Kink) Questions, a series of questions asked by novice kinksters around the web. If you have a question for us, leave it in comments, or send it to rayne (at) insatiabledesire (dot) com with “NS(K)Q” in the subject.

Question 38:

I hear about this 24/7 slave thing a lot, and then I heard you wear the 24/7 slave label, so I figured I’d ask. I mean, there’s no such thing as a 24/7 scene, right? You can’t really be in bondage 24/7, can you? This is just another one of those “yeah, 24/7, winky face” things, right?

This is something I get asked a lot. And you’re right. It’s virtually impossible to remain tied up 24/7 and be comfortable.

People do it. Bless their insane little hearts. Just not me. Read more…

How The Kathleen Hale Stalking Situation Affects Sex Bloggers

I was going to ignore Kathleen Hale’s Guardian piece because it doesn’t affect me. I don’t do many book reviews (though I’m working on three, right now), I don’t often read young adult novels, and now that I know Kathleen Hale is a psycho, I’ll never read or review one of her books, so I have nothing to worry about, right?

You’d think so, except…we haven’t had an issue exactly like this (that I’m aware) in the adult reviewing community, but a few companies have come damn close.

A representative from Pipedream once attacked an EdenFantasys reviewer (I think on the EdenFantasys website, but I can’t remember) for giving their product a critical review. EdenFantasys response (against recommendations made by its community-members-turned-staff) was to instruct reviewers to be more objective in reviews of toys they didn’t like. A few years later, GoodVibes has taken the same stance, calling critical reviews “sex negative” because they don’t take into consideration other people’s bodies, which, to me, sounds more like “your experience only matters if it makes us money” than concern for a person who doesn’t cum like a critical reviewer, but that’s just me.

Shiri Zinn has threatened and harassed reviewers and non-reviewers for multiple reasons, most of which include (but are not limited to) making critical comments and/or writing critical reviews about her shitty Cupcake Vibrator. She’s managed to talk such a big game that even mainstream publications that reviewed the toy (which shall remain nameless) “kept it classy” in their reviews, and avoided words like “orgasm” and “masturbation” to pander to Shiri’s “brand” of…chaste female stimulation. With a cupcake. I’m really not sure how this makes sense to anyone. Read more…

NS(K)Q: Q37 – What advice would you give to a n00b?

Question 37:

I’m pretty new to this whole thing. I have no idea what anything means. I’m not even sure what I’m looking for, really. What advice do you have for a n00b like me?

Wow. I could write you a novel. But I’ll try to keep it short and simple.

1. Research. Whether you pick up some books on kink, or Google BDSM, make sure you know what you’re getting into.

That sounds so ominous, but diving headlong into bondage, discipline, and sadomasochism can get someone hurt if they don’t have a cursory knowledge of what they’re doing. Learn about the many known fetishes, relationship dynamics, labels, toys. Maybe watch some porn that shows people participating in things you think you’ll enjoy. Read more…

I looked at him, and he was aiming his semi-erect penis at me, his fist wrapped tightly around the base of his shaft.

I dropped what I was doing and sat on the floor between his feet. I wrapped my lips around his cock, and worshipped its length with my tongue. He fisted his fingers in my hair and pushed my face into his pubis. I breathed in his scent.

“I’ll probably still cum in your mouth but go bend over. I want to fuck you.”

I didn’t close the window. I didn’t even think about it until he pulled out of me and brought back the cane. Read more…

No Stupid (Kink) Questions: Episode 35 – Are bruises dangerous?

October 14th, 2014 Comments off

NoStupidKinkQuestionsGandhi said that if you want to change the world, you have to be the change you want to see. To that end, Insatiable Desire brings you No Stupid (Kink) Questions, a series of questions asked by novice kinksters around the web. If you have a question for us, leave it in comments, or send it to rayne (at) insatiabledesire (dot) com with “NS(K)Q” in the subject.

Question 35:

I have heard myths that hickeys can cause blood clots and be dangerous. I know this is silly for the most part and there is supposedly only one case of this really being a problem if we even want to believe that. But this does lead me to question whether bruises caused by bdsm play such as spankings may be dangerous. Do you have any thoughts on this that may ease my mind?

First and foremost, I am not a doctor. Everything I know on the subject of BDSM and health, I find on the internet (from generally trusted sources, and a few random ones for good measure), or I’ve learned through experience with my own body and mind, and how it has handled the paces Master and I have put it through. If you’re concerned about something going on with your own body, please step away from the internet and see a doctor. The internet cannot positively diagnose you and it cannot treat you.

This subject is something I’ve been keeping an eye on for a while. Mostly because of the hickey thing you mentioned, but also because I want to know what I’m getting myself into when I’m chasing that adrenaline high. I did some more research for this post, and I’ll leave my sources at the bottom.

So…basically, it’s like this: Read more…
