How I’m Feeling In Light of the Election

Reppin my team all day every day. You will never silence me.

Reppin my team all day every day. You will never silence me.

So on December 19th, and despite the fact that he lost the popular vote, the Electoral College will be electing Donald Trump to the office of Commander In Chief. Some say he won through voter fraud. Some say he won through voter suppression. But regardless of how he won, a proud racist rapist is going to be President of the United States.

Excuse me while I ugly cry. Again.

I’ve waited this long to post anything about it because I couldn’t talk about it without devolving into hysterics.

I keep having to stop and really think about what I want to say, because I want to make sense. I wanted to somehow talk about the election without calling out Trump supporters and 3rd party voters for their fucked up world view and ass-backwards logic. I wanted to believe that even though Donald Trump is openly a racist, a misogynist, a xenophobe, pro-life, and anti-marriage equality, things will be fine. Our country will be fine. Life will go on just like it always has.

But then the statistics from exit polls showed that white America happily trotted to the polls to vote a classist, racist, xenophobic, homophobic misogynist into office. And then Donald Trump picked Reince Priebus to be his Chief of Staff. And then he picked Steve Bannon, a known white supremacist and anti-semite, to be his chief strategist. And Trump’s tax plan is purported to raise taxes by about $3k for single mothers while drastically lowering taxes for the rich.

And holy shit. How can anyone claim Trump’s presidency is going to be a good thing? Read more…

tl;dr: The awesome Crista Anne is fighting depression with an #OrgasmQuest, and even Dr. Drew is intrigued.

That up there is an amazing lady named Crista Anne. She’s a mom of four. She wrestles with depression and social anxiety. She does battle with fibromyalgia and migraines. And though she has always been a very sexual creature, she finds herself on an orgasm quest to end anorgasmia.

Crista Anne was once described by sex educator Ashley Manta thusly:

“She was a vision in rainbow. Like Lisa Frank and Rainbow Brite had hot sex and Crista was the result.”

I can’t think of a better description. Read more…

Cause Maybe You Haven’t Heard

So, my state’s Senate approved Governor Cuomo’s same-sex marriage bill last night. Cuomo signed the bill just before midnight. Provided no one is able to give cause to stop it, LGBT couples will be able to wed beginning in late July.

That makes us state number six. We rock.

That is all.

Except a giant congratulations to those of you planning August weddings!

<3

Oh, P.S. Wear a White Knot in support of marriage equality and tell people why you’re wearing it. Maybe your state will get on board too!

“Virgin Sacrifice” on Kink.com

Just in case you haven’t heard yet, I figured I’d let you know what’s going down. Kink.com plans to “sacrifice the virginity” of Nikki Blue tomorrow night, live on The Upper Floor.

You can read my coverage of the controversy surrounding the event here: Kink.com Sacrifices a Virgin Porn Star. And you can probably find the stream by clicking that “Upper Floor” link up there. Enjoy!

Sometimes, there really is a right and wrong way.

When I saw the headline, I wanted to laugh hysterically at what I imagined would be some very embarrassed TSA workers stumbling all over themselves when confronted by a woman in lingerie making a huge deal out of transparency.  And for a split second, when the TSA worker asked FurryGirl to put her coat back on, I was.

Then M said, “Is that a baby crying? What’s she doing? Trying to cause a confrontation?”

I started to think about it.  And ya know… I’m really not sure this “Humiliate the TSA!” approach is the right one.  Read more…

National Opt-Out Day: Boycotting the Body Scan in the Name of Privacy

November 17th, 2010 No comments

It’s the day ordinary citizens stand up for their rights, stand up for liberty, and protest the federal government’s desire to virtually strip us naked or submit to an “enhanced pat down” that touches people’s breasts and genitals in an aggressive manner.  You should never have to explain to your children, “Remember that no stranger can touch or see your private area, unless it’s a government employee, then it’s OK.”

The goal of National Opt-Out Day is to send a message to our lawmakers that we demand change.  We have a right to privacy and buying a plane ticket should not mean that we’re guilty until proven innocent.  This day is needed because many people do not understand what they consent to when choosing to fly.

Who?

You, your family and friends traveling by air on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Remember too, as the TSA says, “Everyday is opt-out day.”  That is, you can opt out any time you fly. Read more…
