Thanks for not projecting your issues onto me.

The other day, while bumbling around the worldwide web, I saw someone snarking on people who talk about how they “used to be” sex workers. It’s difficult to catch tone and inflection on the internet, and especially when reading strangers, but it seems as if a commonly held opinion among present day sex workers is that those of us who got out of the business feel like we’re better than those of us who are still in it. That would suggest those of us who got out and some of us still in the business believe all the drivel we’re telling the rest of the world not to believe. Like being a prostitute is shameful and gross and sex workers should be shunned from society … except when society is paying to fuck them.

For the record, and make no mistake I mean every word of this (and understand I speak only for myself):

That’s your hang-up. Not mine.  Read more…

Should taxpayers pay for gender reassignment surgery?

There’s a subject on which I’m completely torn, and I don’t talk about it because I’m not really sure whether or not I have the right to talk about it, and I can’t tell you how utterly stupid that is. Because they are the minority and they need the support of the majority. Without the support of the majority, the movement raised in support of equality will fizzle and die. Yet, parts of this group continue to tell those of us not within the parameters they deem worthy that we have no right to an opinion, and certainly shouldn’t be trying to force our opinion, whatever that may be, upon those of us who don’t share our position in life. Whatever that means.

I get the notion of privilege, and the idea that I’m more privileged than a black woman simply because of the color of my skin disgusts me, but I won’t pretend I don’t see it every day when I’m mingling among the masses we call society. It’s apparent in the way people of every color trust me more than sometimes people of their own race or nationality. It’s noticeable in the ease with which people slip into conversation with me, and aren’t uncomfortable if I stand too close, and don’t mind leaving me with their prized possessions while they do something in another room. Overheard at the Bagel Shop: The Transformers Edition

March 9th, 2011 Comments off

“She wanted a Transformer,” she said, with an expression made of equal parts amusement and disgust. “So we got her a bracelet making kit.”

Uhm.

Master was in the bathroom. I repeated the remark in my head until I could put it in His phone when He got back so I could remember it when we got home. And when I typed the words in, I showed it to Him.

“You guys make too big a deal out of stuff like this. Most kids don’t even remember. The only reason they remember is because people like you make a big deal out of it.”

“I remember. When I was a kid I wasn’t allowed to play with boys toys, and I remember.” Read more…

Melen’s Giveaway Answers

K2theF asked:

Would you ever share Rayne with other men?

Yes, and I have in the past. Lately I’ve been keeping her to myself. It really depends on my mood, and it really depends on the guy.

Rayne is also my wife, and I will strike quick and hard against anyone threatening that relationship. Because of that, rayne is usually not allowed to be more than a casual acquaintance with the men I let fuck her. It’s purely for sex.

Which leads me to a common misconception; that men want sex and not anything emotional. I can’t begin to tell you how hard it’s been to find men to fuck rayne and keep emotion out of it. Inevitably they cross the line, getting too personal with attempts at friendship, and more. What ever happened to using some good pussy and moving on? Shesh! Read more…

Some Things That are Driving Me Crazy

Thing 1 – Possessive Nouns

I try not to be a grammar Nazi. Heaven knows my grammar isn’t perfect. I suck at commas. I still mix up “affect” and “effect”. I only just learned when to use “past” and “passed”. But the amount of people who have no idea how to correctly write possessive nouns drives me absolutely insane. INSANE!

Let me start by pointing you to a website every writer should at least have bookmarked. It’s called Daily Writing Tips, and if they haven’t covered it already, write them, and they will. Read more…

Because Stereotyping Men Totally Makes Your Case

July 28th, 2010 5 comments

The other day, on Twitter, Brit linked an article on My Fault, I’m Female.  It’s a feminist blog screaming about sexism and “rape culture”.  They accept stories from women everywhere about being the victim of our “male chauvinist society”.

Names and faces are kept private to protect the women involved, so posters are, essentially, anonymous.  Which gives the reader nothing to go on but the poster’s word.  But apparently, that’s all that’s needed when labeling someone a chauvinist.
