What’s it about?

This book is about the history of anal pleasure, how to let go of taboos and achieve anal pleasure, anal health…it’s everything you need to know about how to pleasure yourself or your partner anally, and then some.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
interesting facts I did not know
anal myth debunking
step-by-step instructions
eases a beginner into anal play
kind of dry
couldn’t hold my attention

I haven’t finished it. I know! I can’t even really say how much of it I’ve read, because I’ve begun to skip around and read parts that sound like info I should have. But I also haven’t stopped reading it.

I’m pretty convinced my AD(H)D isn’t just an online diagnosis. I’ve had to reread sections of this book no less than three times to grasp their meaning and retain the information. However, I have retained quite a bit of information from this book. And that’s pretty nifty because my short-term memory has been ridiculous lately.

I’ve learned things I never knew before. Like the fact that some tribes had men who dressed like women and received anal sex from the warriors and hunters.

Mr. Morin says people usually have to have things removed from their anal cavity in the hospital because they got scared and tensed up. That if you do find yourself losing a toy inside your rump, just relax, and open your bowels as you would if… well you know. He says a healthy bum will rid itself of the foreign object just like it does waste.

He also says the average anal cavities won’t just suck a toy inside. I think some of us have learned differently. Though in most cases, it happens when we’re sitting on them, so it’s possible it’s the pressure, not suction.

In any case, the book is well-written, if a little dry. It fits a niche that needs exploration. It can be helpful to someone who’s hesitant about anal play, giving them the ability to take a look at why they’re nervous about it, and maybe become more open with it. And it’s got tons of info anyone interested in anal play should have.

Where’d ya get it?

Babeland Toys sent me Anal Pleasure and Health free of charge in exchange for an honest review. Babeland is a bicoastal, women-friendly adult store. Their mission is “to promote and celebrate sexual vitality by providing an honest, open and fun environment. Encouraging personal empowerment, community education, and support for a more passionate world are key.”

I really dislike dry books that are hard to get through. However, when they have useful information- it is even harder because you WANT to read it for the info. I felt the same way about a gspot book that I have.

This sounds like a great premise though, especially because anal is something that a lot of people are ignorant about. I’ve heard so many horror stories about anal gone wrong. >.<
