Product Review: Flip Ramp and Slip Cover by Liberator

December 2nd, 2010

Ooo, what’s that?

Is it an ottoman? A sex toy? A positional aid? Designed with those of us who have little storage room in mind, the Liberator Flip Ramp can be all of those things when you purchase it, and the Slip Cover (sold separately).  Just tug the Slip Cover over your Flip Ramp, and hide it in plain sight.  Even if they sit on it, no one will ever guess what’s inside.

What’d it come in?

The Flip Ramp and cover came in the same plain brown cardboard box from Fulfillment center.  The Flip Ramp was folded up and sealed in a clear plastic bag, and the cover in a clear plastic zipped bag.  Inside was the Position Guide Flipbook, as is usually the case with Liberator gear.

How’s it made?

Folded Unfolded Wedge Heart
Length 19″ 37″ 14″ 12 1/2″
Width 18 1/2″ 18 1/2″ 23 1/2″ 18″
Height 15″ shortest: 12″
tallest: 3″
7 3/4″ 7 3/4″

Like most Liberator shapes, the Flip Ramp> has two covers, and a sturdy champagne (furniture-grade polyurethane) foam core.  Though, I suppose one could say this shape has three covers, because the core is in two pieces, and each piece has its own waterproof polyester shell, and big black zipper.

The velvety microfiber cover is all one piece, but Liberator made it super easy to get the cores in and out.  Just fold the ramp up, and unzip along the straight outer edges.  Peel back the flat side of the cover, and tug.  The core should easily slide out.  It’s just as easy to replace as it is to remove, once you get the hang of it.  I got it twisted a couple times at first, and once I even tried to put the little side on the big core, but when I’m actually paying attention, it goes right on!

The Slip Cover is made of faux black leather, and is open on one side for ease of use.

What’s it for?

Best use for this bad boy? Heh…

It can be an ottoman, a positional sex aid, a video game chair, a sort of make-shift spanking bench, a stage, of sorts, to lift you, or your partner, or the Liberator BonBon or… Couple it with the Liberator Heart Wedge for extra support to your head and neck when it’s unfolded.  Everyone involved will be well supported, and comfortable.  Even those on the heavier side.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
soft, durable microfiber
waterproof polyester protective cover
sturdy champagne foam
easily holds up to 300lbs
comfortable curves
one piece microfiber cover
ottoman cover a little tricky
picks up everything

Sometimes, when it comes to these sex shapes, it takes some serious thought for me to get the creative juices flowing.  I never had the coolest block castle in school, either, and I think the two are similar.  I can think outside the box, and get up to some pretty neat “designs”, but then I’ll check out someone else’s, and realize I’m stepping, maybe, two feet outside the box, while others are stepping thirty or a hundred feet out.  So imagine how excited I got when it occurred to me to put the BonBon on top of the Flip Ramp without any help from anyone else.

At first, when it got here, I wasn’t all that excited about the Flip Ramp.  When compared with the Wedge/Ramp Combo, this one-piece ramp seems… lacking.  Less versatile.  Until you really start to mess around with it, and start putting it together with other Liberator shapes.  Then the millions of possibilities start to become apparent.

What the Flip Ramp loses in versatility on its own, it makes up for in comfort, and its ability to hide in plain sight.  Once I began experimenting with it, my original disappointment vanished.  This shape really is turning out to be an amazing addition to our sex life.

Anything else I should know?

Champagne Foam: Like I’ve said before, hide the cores somewhere they can’t get dirty when washing the polyester shell, and you’ll never have to clean them.  But in the off chance they get something on them, a damp cloth should do the trick.  Make sure the foam dries completely before putting it back inside the covers.

Polyester: In most cases, after the initial washing of these covers, you shouldn’t have to wash them again.  Most liquids will never make it through the cover, and will easily wipe off the surface with a damp cloth.  But if you choose to wash them, use the gentle cycle, and tumble dry on low.  Remove them from the dryer as soon as they’re dry, or risk them shrinking.  I usually just hand wash and hang to dry to be safe.

Microfiber: The microfiber cover can be machine washed in the gentle cycle, and tumble dried on low heat, or no heat, as well.  You can also hang this cover to dry to prevent shrinking if you prefer.  It, too, should be removed from the dryer immediately, if you decide to go that route.

Faux Leather: A warm soapy rag, and a towel will keep this bad boy looking good as new.  When putting this cover on, be sure to measure up the sides, since one side of the Flip Ramp, when folded, is just slightly shorter than the other.  If you don’t, your cover won’t fit quite as nicely, and while it’s not overly noticeable, it does often end up looking a little twisted.

Where’d ya get it?

This looks like it would be great for me because I am definitely lacking in space. I wanted the wedge/ramp, but think I will aim for this one first now since I can pass it off as an ottoman.

    @ Kindred Thanks! 🙂 It’s a really great product.

@ Misfit Momma aka Missy I actually like my Wedge/Ramp Combo better than the Flip Ramp because they’re separate pieces, so I can use one or the other depending on what I’m doing. But we long ago made room for the Combo in a closet, so storage wasn’t an issue until we started receiving more shapes. Lol.

The Flip Ramp is a good investment, though, if you need to hide it in the open. It’s really comfortable, and sturdy, and easy to use.
