The Saga Continues…

June 5th, 2011

First things first: Switching laptops (My old laptop got really close to dying so we bought a cheap one, for now, until we’re rich and can afford to buy me another Macbook. It’s actually pretty sweet. Fastest computer I’ve ever owned.) broke my personal email. I’m not kidding. I have no idea what’s going on. M hasn’t had time to look at it. All I know for certain is I can’t send anything. So! I am not ignoring you. I just have no other way to reach you. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

We’ve got new neighbors.

Shut up, you love my asshole neighbor stories. If only so you can sit in your quiet neighborhood thanking your deity that you don’t live here.

So let’s see… I told you about the scumbags who lived in the apartment we live in now who kept a giant pit bull locked up in the kitchen. Obviously, they’re gone.

I can’t remember if I told you about the creepy guy who got the wrong impression and asked me to cheat on M with him. He’s gone, too. He moved cause (we think) he was on parole and there’s an insane amount of “traffic” on this block. If I have to explain to you what “traffic” means, thank your deity extra hard that you don’t live here.

The landlord moved a couple boys somewhere between age 20-30 into our old place upstairs, but they got into a fight and one moved out. The one that stayed broke a window the other day, so he’s being asked to leave as well.

And then there’s the awesome people upstairs.

There used to be an older couple living upstairs. They’re the reason we waited so long to ask to move into this place. They had their faults, as everyone does, but over all, they weren’t too difficult to deal with. There was just no way we would have been able to handle spending every summer morning, beginning at around 8am, listening to bass that rattles the windows. Not to mention, M’s often on the phone with customers. The first time he wasn’t able to take a call because we had to yell to be heard over their music, he’d be told unequivocally that he was no longer allowed to work from home.

Well, I’d take them back over the motherfucker living upstairs any day.

Right now, at 1pm, he has his music on, and it’s at least ten times quieter than it was at 4am. M says while I was sleeping he was pacing the house screaming, “I don’t give a fuck who has a problem with my music this loud.” At 4am, when M woke me up, though there was no way he could have heard M and me awake since he was having to yell to hear himself over the stereo, he started talking about how he was going to blow up the building and kill everyone in it.

We’re out. There’s nothing the landlord can do or say at this point. Thankfully, we’re not dealing with The Crackhead anymore, but we are dealing with one fucktard loser after the another because he can’t be bothered to screen his tenants. And now he’s ignoring my calls.

Last weekend he was all “I have the most trouble with this building!” Well, jerkface, that’s because you keep putting parolees in here who’re working on their third strike expecting them to be so scared of going to prison for the rest of their lives that they won’t act like total shitheads.

M got his license reinstated the day we picked up Bash (the kitten). Next payday, we’re taking his paycheck to a car dealership to see if we can get a loan at one of those places that claims they do bad credit loans. (Thank the Great Purple Cabbage for my job. Without it, none of this would be possible. It couldn’t have come at a better time.) Hopefully, it’ll be enough for a down payment. If not, we’ll begin the hunt for a POS and fix it as we go.

Once we’ve got a car, we’re going to start looking for a house to rent. Not an apartment. Though in this area, we may not be able to afford a house. We’ll see.

All I know for sure is were outta here. Done. Finit. Fuck you, Schenectady. Your assholes far outweigh your cool people, these days.

Damn, you have had to deal with some crazy-ass shit! I hope your next place turns out a hell of a lot better.

    Rayne,

You won’t actually get better neighbors with a house, but you will be farfther away from them. That can make all the difference; speaking as someone who used to live in an area the cops called “felony flats”.
