Ooo, what’s that?

So you’ve read about Spunk Hybrid, and Spunk Pink. How’s about a pure silicone, body safe, paraben free version? Spunk’s got one of those, too, and it’s aptly named Spunk Pure Silicone.

What’d it come in?

It came in discreet packaging and the bottles were sealed. The bottle is recyclable like the other Spunk products. But again…no pump top. I want pump tops!

Edited to add: I’ve since spoken with the manufacturer about the pump top situation. He says he tested this lube with tons, and TONS of pump tops, and with every single one, it leaked. No pump tops, then! Leaky lube is no good. Either way, the top on this one isn’t bad. It doesn’t leak, and it’s easy to gauge how much or how little your putting in your hands.

Ingredients
Dimethicone
Dimethiconol
Cyclopentasiloxane
Cyclohexasiloxane

What’s it for?

Some people use silicone lube for just about everything. Adding some extra shine to their hair, and taming flyaways, conditioning leather, moisturizing skin…but what lube is generally intended for is masturbation, sex, sex toys, anal sex, and such.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
not greasy
doesn’t stain
washes clean much easier than other silicones
pure silicone
no parabens
leaves temporary marks on silicone toys

Pretty much, I hate silicone lube. This is no joke. It’s hard to wash up. It doesn’t, at all, feel like my natural fluids. This wouldn’t be so bad for anal sex, since your butt tunnel doesn’t get wet like a vagina does, but silicone lube also usually feels really greasy. I apparently wrote a review way back in the day saying that I liked a silicone lube, but I don’t remember actually liking it. I mean, it was okay as silicone lubes go, which, back then, was enough for me to say I liked something. It functions how it’s supposed to, so it’s good, yes?

Yeah, that’s really not the case. A vibrator that gets me off like it’s supposed to but doesn’t actually feel good is not, for me, a good vibrator. So a lube that makes things slippery like it’s supposed to but I don’t like how it feels is not necessarily, for me, a good silicone lube. And the fact is that I hate silicone lube.

So when I saw Spunk Pure Silicone in the package with the other two bottles, I was kinda devastated. Here this company is sending me a whole crap load of lube for free just so I can have an easier time putting stuff in my butt and write about it, and I’m probably not going to have anything good to say about their product. That sucks. I like having good things to say about products.

But then I tried it. And it was good. I mean, I still much prefer the hybrids. But this silicone is none of the things that make me hate silicone lube.

The consistency is really close to natural fluids. It’s not greasy at all. It washes off so much easier than any other silicone lube I’ve ever tried. It lasts a long time without getting sticky or gummy. And I got it all over the curtain I use as a backdrop, but it washed right out.

So you know how some people say silicone lube and silicone toys don’t mix, and other people say this is a myth? Well, this silicone lube left temporary marks on my Acute. It freaked me right out when it happened. I put the lube on Acute for pictures, and when I washed it off, there were these stripes on it. I was worried I’d ruined one of my Tantus toys. We all know how I feel about my Tantus toys. But the stripes went away, and there were no lasting affects.

I save this lube for anal sex and glass and stainless steel toys, anyway, just to be safe. It works great for those things, and there’s no danger of the toy and the lube reacting.

Where’d ya get it?

D. Enterprises sent me Spunk Hybrid free of charge in exchange for an honest review. D. Enterprises manufactures award winning personal lubricants. They released STR8cam Lube in 2010 and it quickly became the lube of choice for many adult studios. Their next product line, SPUNK Lube, was released in 2011. The SPUNK Lube line-up not only consists of their award winning hybrid formula but also includes two new fun lubes, SPUNK Lube Pure Silicone and SPUNK Lube Pink.

Wow, I was not sure you would trying being it that you hate silicone lube but I am glad you did and enjoy it. That would freak me out about the silicone toys as well. I am glad the spots went away. I will be testing this out soon but I will not use it on a silicone toy I love though.

I giggled at butt tunnel! I’m not a fan of silicone lube either, since I tend to use them on all my silicone toys and would get too nervous. I may just pick this up for my butt tunnel though!
